Students at Highland celebrated Autism Awareness Month in April. Students spread awareness and acceptance by learning more about Autism through fun videos and facts. Each Highland student colored an Autism Awareness ribbon to add to our display.
This season in track & field, Isaac Elliott plans to win a WPIAL title in his sprinting event. In previous years, Elliott has unfortunately pulled his hamstring and been unable to compete. This year he has been doing very well so far with no injuries, so he hopes to be able to compete and qualify for states. Congratulations to him so far, and good luck for the rest of the season!

During our Chapter on Stars and Galaxies I gave the students an assignment to research a galaxy or nebula, find certain information and using cross curricular teaching with the help of Jamie Jo our JH art teacher. The students used chalk and pastels to draw a picture of their galaxy/nebula. Although all the kids did a great job I always like to have a competition (short mans syndrome) and offer a small prize for the best in each class. Here are the winners!
